It's time for bed. Random thoughts: Moving stuff. Tired. exercise equipment is heavy. Driving into snowbanks is funny, if its your buddy who does it. granite in. carpeting nearly 100% in. Qwest is dumb. still don't have phone. DirecTV is Thursday. Anticipating they are nearly as dumb as Qwest. Cabinetry nearly done. Bar nearly done. 24 foot moving trucks are long. Acceleration is not their strong suit. Raise a glass to good friends who drive 3+ hours to help you move. And brother in laws who get up at 7AM for 10 hour work day moving stuff. Quite the sight to see a 20x30 foot storage unit empty that was packed to the ceiling the last 5 months. Nearly done. move in Saturday. Tired. Still tired.

Two updates in one day!
Per policy, I am compelled to submit another blog entry. Luckily, I was out at the house this afternoon to spend time widening the driveway in anticipation of the 24 foot truck I have to get in there on saturday. Snapped some picks with my phone, so not the best quality:
Bar cabinets starting to really come together!
Carpeting install started today. Only room completely done is exercise room. Main living area downstairs wasn't started because there is still work going on in the bar. Rest of house got all the padding down and some of the rooms have carpeting loosely laid out.

New policy in place for Blog updates
As the move-in date approaches, the demand for blog updates has overwhelmed the home office. After several board meetings and a painful approval process, we have a new policy in place:
In order for your request for a new update to be acted upon, a worthwhile addition to the comment section must be submitted first. In order for a comment to be considered "worthwhile" it must meet the following criteria:
This policy is subject to change without notice.
Update:
The actual builder (who also does all the interior woodwork minus the cabinetry) is pretty much done. Will just come back later in the week or next week to do the deck railings and the screens for the porch. Stairs down from deck will wait until spring. Cabinet guys continue to work away trimming everything up and getting on doors. Also will be building the beamwork and trim for the bar. Appliances delivered yesterday. Carpeting should start today. Qwest coming tomorrow (chances of smooth install about 12%). Remaining granite should come soon. We are moving lots of stuff to the house Saturday with the help of brother in law and a friend driving up from the cities. Should be good times!
Pictures...some of these are phone pics so quality isn't the greatest:
Bar drawers and doors starting to go in. These guys did an awesome job making the wood appear distressed and very rustic and "medieval"
Doors going in on the TV cabinets. Doors slide up and back...and in the case of two of the shelves, we had to split it into two doors to accommodate the depth of the cabinet.
Appliances were delivered yesterday:
Doors going in on bathroom vanities:
Downstairs fireplace all trimmed up:
Mailbox installed...wouldn't have minded at all if it had been just a bit warmer that day...
Master bath gets a linen closet, front paneling on the bath, and cabinet above the vanity:
In order for your request for a new update to be acted upon, a worthwhile addition to the comment section must be submitted first. In order for a comment to be considered "worthwhile" it must meet the following criteria:
- 3 sentences or more, preferably in English, with both a subject and predicate.
- At least 2 of the 3 sentences are somehow related to the house.
- Effort must be shown in producing a valuable or interesting comment. The Board reserves the right to disqualify an entry that does not meet its standards. For example: "House is good. Nice cabinets. I like cheese." would not be given credit for a worthwhile entry.
- Bonus points given for humor. The results of earning bonus points is TBD.

310 more hours to go!
We are now less than 2 weeks away from actually living in this house that has dominated our spare time for most of the last 18 months.
Things are moving rapidly. Electrical fixtures nearly done. Plumbing nearly done. Tiling nearly done. Final cabinetry going in. Most granite already installed. Beamwork and stair railing nearly complete. Hardwood floor completed. Qwest install on Friday. DirecTV coming next Thursday. Carpet later this week. We will be moving most of our stuff over there this upcoming Saturday. Still have to get that dang mailbox up. Oh yeah -- I'm doing most of the low-voltage finishing work myself, so need to get that done too....
AND...the first snow-plowing with the tractor has been done! Other than a 45-minute adventure trying to replace a shear bolt (ASDFAS@#@!%!*$#) it worked like a charm!

Pat looking forward to plowing some snow with the tractor:

First time out with the tractor!
Sledding wonderland:
